Taking a hike in the Schwarzwald
I'm staying in a wonderful little village in the Black Forest region of Germany called Seelbach. It sits in a valley between some hills and it's everything I dreamed of in a visit to the Black Forest. I'll post more on that later when I leave this place.
I went on a hike on a whim along one side of the valley. They have a fantastic trail marker system here in the Schwarzwald so I was able to do it with no gps or internet required.
I was smiling the whole way. With the time of year I've visited it's a wonderful mix of eerie and beautiful and I love it.
Speaking of things I love... I love, love, love! the trail signs you can find in the Schwarzwald. The symbols mean things like quality trail, good view, bus stop, food etc etc so once you find one, you can work out where to go without a map or a phone. They're the best I've ever seen and great for a wander :)
